  • Formal Training: We are an approved Centre for REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene, Infection Prevention and Control and Cleaning and Disinfection Courses

  • Follow on educational opportunities - working with Midlothian Council Life Long Learning.
  • Providing cooking workshops in the local school and in the Hive Training Kitchen.
  • Informal Training - we are hoping to introduce facepainting skills for young people
  • Using our new Greenhouse to grow food, plants - and also grow people!

Homework/Study Club


We run homework/study clubs for P7s upwards.  We help with English, Maths and the usual subjects.  Our students like projects and we like to make learning different from school lessons!  We want to give our children a vision and a new narrative as they transition from primary to secondary.

Christmas Surprise crafting for the kids

  • Friendly Voice Service. We run a telephone friendly voice to the elderly, lonely, people with mental health problems.  This has been operational since the start of lockdown and we hope to add a Friendly Neighbour service into the future.  We also want to start support groups for carers of dementia sufferers by inviting them to craft making, dementia cuff making

Working with our Armed Forces

We are maintaing our links with the Armed Forces by offering occasional on-line cake decorating workshops to the children through the Royal Caledonian Education Trust.

Community in Action

Our Ageing Well Carol Singers

  • Bringing services to the community by partnership working with other organisations, e.g. CAB, Vocal, Health in Mind and existing Gorebridge community groups, Midlothian Council.
  • The Big Lunch - a free event for the community in August
  • Santa Event - giving all Gorebridge children the opportunity for a magical Christmas Experience.
